LeEco, the video-streaming, phone- and TV-making, smart car-demoing mega-company based in China, is adding more bicycles to its seemingly endless line of devices. these new bikes are debuting at CES 2017 and will come to the US in the second quarter of this year.

LeEco has launched two Smart Bicycles, the Smart Road Bike and Smart Mountain Bike, ahead of CES 2017 on Tuesday. The bicycles run LeEco's own Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based 'BikeOS' and come with a touchscreen display that provides users with turn-by-turn navigation with the help of integration with Here maps.

Chinese conglomerate LeEco just announced two smart bikes here at CES, both which run the company’s customized BikeOS flavor of Android. They’ll be available in the US during the second quarter of 2017,The pricing of the new bicycles hasn't been revealed, but the company said they will be available in North America in Q2 2017.

In terms of safety and security, LeEco's new smart bicycles come with automatic on-board lighting, horn, and a security alarm. The company says the bikes automatically notify owners when the alarm is activated, and location can be tracked via the mobile app.

The company’s two new bikes — the Smart Road Bike and the Smart Mountain Bike — each have the sorts of things you need for those respective types of biking: seats, wheels, and carbon fiber frames. They’re both 11-speed bikes, with the Road Bike weighing in at 18.5 pounds and the Mountain Bike a heftier 26.9 pounds.

In addition to on-screen directions that feature turn-by-turn navigation for bicyclists, you'll get a compass, a barometer and a speedometer. The bikes can also play music (both online and off), and you can talk to other LeEco smart bike owners via on-board walkie-talkie technology.
The smart bikes also have a 4-inch touchscreen to show all the necessary information and it is powered by a Snapdragon 410 chipset and has a 6,000mAh rechargeable battery. While all these features are standard in both bikes, there are a few differentiators between LeEco Smart Road and Smart Mountain bikes.
The bikes also include a compass, accelerometer, a barometer , lights, a horn, an alarm, and they support third party accessories for things like heart rate tracking. And, of course, there’s a social component — the bike and its phone app will log all your rides, and you can share (and show off) all that good data.

The on-board sensors on the bicycles include "GPS/ GLONASS, compass, accelerometer, barometer, light level, wheel speed and crank speed, while also offering compatibility with third-party ANT+ heart rate and power sensors to help meet fitness goals," LeEco said. The electronics on the bike come with water resistance rating of IP54, the company said.

You can also log your bike rides, share your rides with other people and keep track of fitness and performance goals with the LeEco bike app.
