Xiaomi Unveiled Mi MIX White Color Variant At CES 2017

The Chinese tech company Xiaomi has introduced a new colour variant of its Mi MIX smartphone - Pearl White.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX has been designed by Philippe Starck, and the highlight of the 6.4-inch smartphone is the bezel-less display with 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. With the screen covering the top part of the device, the company has opted for advanced receiver-less sound transmission for delivering audio to your ears, and ultrasonic technology for proximity sensor, which is hidden below the display. As for the build, instead of metal, the smartphone boasts a ceramic body.

Initially, the Mi MIX was unveiled as a limited edition handset made in collaboration with French designer Philippe Stark back in October last year. Hugo Barra, Global VP at Xiaomi, at the company's CES 2017 event confirmed that the new colour will be shipping to China later this year.

Xiaomi says they used a piezoelectric ceramic driver, which basically converts electrical signals into mechanical energy and eliminate the need for an earpiece. Though not the first smartphone to come with such technology, but again a clever implementation.
