Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Leaks : Features, Specifications and More

Qualcomm has officially confirmed that it will be announcing the powerful Snapdragon 835 processor at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017 that will take place in Las Vegas. Its details have surfaced before the official announcement.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset’s features have been leaked in slides ahead of its Consumer Electronics Shows (CES) 2017 launch at Las Vegas. The leaked slides, put up by videocardz.com, reveal the Snapdragon 835 will come with ’20 per cent performance’ improvement compared to the previous generation.

A Chinese leakster revealed on Video Cardoz an image of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with complete information of the specifications of the chipset. According to the leaked information on image, the Snapdragon 835 is an eight-core powerful processor with Kyro 280 architecture.

The Kyro 280 efficiency cluster reveal it can be clocked up to 1.9GHz and 80 per cent of time will be spent on efficiency for enhanced performance. According to the slides, Adreno 540 GPU will support 10-bit 4K@60fps display, Q-Sync and wide colour gamut. It will come with 25 per cent faster graphics rendering and 60x more display colors.

The chipset will also help launch Qualcomm's new Quick Charge 4 fast-charging standard – which is being tipped to give you five hours of juice based on just five minutes of charging – and offer support for new face and eye-scanning security technologies.
In terms of phones, it seems no coincidence that both Qualcomm and Honor – Huawei's spin-off brand – are sharing the same time, date, and location for their CES press conferences, which suggests that a joint announcement is in order.
Snapdragon 835 SoC brings with it Quick Charge 4.0, which Qualcomm claims is up to 20 percent faster than the previous version. The current Snapdragon 820 and 821 SoC’s include Quick Charge 3.0 feature that can charge the smartphone battery up to 80 percent in 35 minutes.
The big news about the Snapdragon 835 is that it’s Qualcomm’s first 10nm chip. Snapdragon 835 is optimized to provide better Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality experiences. Qualcomm claims the new processor will only consume 40% less power compared to the previous versions: the Snapdragon 820 and 821.The 835 is designed to improve zoom and image stabilization for mobile photography. Qualcomm's new video generation software is expected to provide more stabilization for 4K videos as well.Snapdragon 835 has integrated Snapdragon X16 LTE modem and customized support for 802.11ad Wi-Fi which provides faster connectivity.
The eight cores of Snapdragon 835 chipset is divided into two set of quad cores. The first four performances cores clocks at the speed of 2.45 GHz and the other 4X efficiency cores work at 1.9 GHz, GizmoChina reported.
Online leaks suggest Samsung Galaxy S8, company’s 2017 flagship, could be the first smartphone to have a version with the 835 processor on board. Other leaks claim the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be the first Chinese smartphone with the new Snapdragon 835 processor, launching around February, although some reports have also said the phone’s launch could be delayed to April due to supply issues with the Snapdragon 835 processor.

The Snapdragon 835 is expected to power numerous flagship smartphones of 2017. Some of SD 835 powered future phones include Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, LG G6, HTC 11, Xiaomi Mi 6, OnePlus 5 and more.
